The San Antonio Alternative Housing Corp. will
showcase the first affordable energy-efficient subdivision in San Antonio this
Friday.
The new JT Brackenridge Affordable Subdivision
currently has eight new homes that were built according to Build San Antonio
Green standards. All of the homes in the subdivision will have the right
criteria for energy, water, outdoor plants and health.
All of the sink fixtures are rated at 1.4 gallons
per minute or less. All the landscaping features plants approved by San Antonio
Water System. All the homes have carbon monoxide detectors.
On Friday at 10 a.m., the developers will open up
the homes for tours. In all, 59 homes are slated to be built in this
subdivision. JT Brackenridge is located off South Brazos and Vera Cruz on the
city's West Side.
