Build San Antonio Green recieved the 2009 Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Texas Environmental Excellence Award Civic/Non-Profit category. The awards banquet was held in Austin on May 13th, 2009.

NAHB Awards - May 8, 2009 Dallas Texas

Build San Antonio Green was awarded the 2009 Green Building Program of the Year Award from the National Association of Home Builders. The awards were presented at a banquet in Dallas on May 8th, 2009.

The City of San Antonio held its inaugural Green Building Awards Ceremony on May 8th, 2009 at the International Center

Fresh Air Friday - April 3, 2009

AACOG's annual Fresh Air Friday was held at Main Plaza the afternoon of April 3, 2009. Build San Antonio Green was on hand to educate attendees about the importance of building green and how green building help promote better air quality for San Antonio.

Terrific Treehouse

The Terrific Treehouse event is an opportunity for designers, builders, and artists to show off their skills at designing and building a unique treehouse. The Metropolitan Partnership for Energy has partnered with Texas Public Radio and the local chapter of the US Green Building Council to build a treehouse entirely from sustainable materials. The Treehouse is on display at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens until December 6th.

 

 

Cibolo Canyons Press Conference - June 20th, 2008

On June 20th, a press conference was held at the Cibolo Canyons development announcing the first ever Green Parade of Homes in San Antonio. All homes for the 2008 Parade of Homes will be constructed through the Build San Antonio Green™program. Also announced was that all future development in the Cibolo Canyons development will be through the Build San Antonio Green™program.

Construction Waste Management Workshop - February 20, 2008

On February 20th, MPE held our first workshop of 2008. The topic was Construction Waste Management, and featured Greenstone Industires, a unique business in San Antonio who grind construction waste and reuse it on-site for a variety of practical applications, including erosion control and mulching. Their services can reduce the amount of construction waste that goes to a landfill by 50 - 90%.

Solar Fest is a unique event put on by MPE's sister organization, Solar San Antonio. Each year, a variety of vendors, advocates, and champions of solar and other renewable energies, green building, and sustainable living gather to showcase their products and services and provide information to the public about green and sustainable living.
